We have already finished our third Chicago Art Challenge this week (and this is the third time!). We have used some drawing techniques working together with the Steinmetz Chicago’s High School. We basically have worked in collaboration with the Art Drawing department but all the process has been developed in English.
At the beginning of the school year our pupils suggested some Art Challenges for the North American students (you can read them at the end of this post). They had to interpret our sentences.
In some cases, their suggestions included references about some authors for further research. All the projects are based on the idea of «our city». When we received the Chicago proposals we dedicated some time to assign every project individually. We dedicated some time to unfold the possibilities of every idea and finally, we realized that we would need to undertake some hard work on illustration techniques. Therefore, we added some other illustration works in order to learn the knowledge to create every piece:

I would like to see a human figure tatooed with different aspects of Barcelona. It must be done in ink and watercolor. You choose which tattoos to illustrate but my suggestion is that black and white tattoos should be of sad aspects and watercolor for the beautiful tattoos. 
My image challenge request is to draw one of your favorite street art compositions that can be found in the streets of Barcelona. The street art does not have to be an exact copy, you can add your own twist to it. 
My request is to create a fighting area in the Parc de la Ciutadella as if it it were a street fighting arena. You can be creative and even use characters and even health bars. Or if you prefer create a work showing the Parc de la Ciutadella but everything in an opposing element. For example: lava instead of water, steel instead of bricks). Use your imagination. 
My image challenge request is to create a piece that captures the beaches of Barcelona in the night using vivid colors and using any medium of your choice. 
My challenge request is to express the culture of soccer in Barcelona. The drawing should be in a famous street like the block of Discord. Use soccer players from Barcelona F.C. 
Imagine a recreation of a famous art piece, as long as it represents Barcelona. Use vibrant colors, 2 different mediums, and the style is up to the artist.

Please draw a man or a woman wearing a piece of clothing that represents Barcelona’s fashion culture. The background should be on the Barcelona beach, park or city street. The man or woman should pose in the manner of your choice. The weather should be evident in the background.
My image challenge to you is to draw Casa Batlló in different perspectives at different times of the day. Use vibrant colors to capture its beauty.
My image challenge request is to paint a landmark such as Sagrada Familia or Parc Güell with multiple colors and add some originality and flavor of your own personality. 
My challenge for you is to draw the city and how it looks during the Fiesta de la Mercè. 
My image challenge request is to draw one of your favorite street art compositions that can be found in the streets of Barcelona. The street art does not have to be an exact copy, you can add your own twist to it. 
My image challenge requires you to depict the worst parts of Barcelona such as people in poverty and pollution. Also while depicting the worst parts of your country include your own favorite parts of Barcelona culture. These can include festivals, locations, food and traditions. Make sure to incorporate some color and some pictures with black and white. In your piece my suggestion would be to use black and white for the bad parts of your country and use vivid colors for your favorite parts of Barcelona culture.
